Aetas 0.6.0: a better game list
This update is mostly about multiplayer: finding a good game is easier, and losing your connection no longer costs you your seat.
The game list#
- The list shows the ping to each host, so you can pick a game with a good connection. Green is good, yellow is okay, red is far away.
- Click any column header to sort by it, and click again to reverse. New columns show the ages and the game speed.
- Filter the list: search by name, hide full or started games, hide games with a password, or show only ranked or only unranked games. Your choices are remembered.
- Games with a Steam friend in them are marked and shown at the top.
Back in your own seat#
If you left a multiplayer match, or your game closed, you could only come back as an observer once the match had lasted more than fifteen minutes. That's fixed: you now get your own seat back, both with the Reconnect button and by clicking the game in the list, where it now says "rejoin".
Smaller things#
- The handicap in the lobby is clearer. Instead of "Human · 100%" it now just says "Human", or for example "Human · +50% income", and a question mark explains what it does.
- Replays no longer have fog of war: the whole map is explored and you see every player's units and buildings. A button on the playback bar switches back to what the recording player saw at the time.
