Roadmap
What we are working on now, what comes next and what might come later. Plans, not promises.
Aetas is still in development and gets regular updates. This page shows where it is heading. Keep in mind that these are plans, not promises: the order can change, and some of it depends on how many people end up playing. Ideas and wishes are very welcome, see the bottom of this page.
Now#
- Regular updates. Most of what changes comes from playing a lot ourselves and from what players report. You can follow every update in the news.
- The computer opponent. Smarter bases, armies that attack together, allies that help you out, and every difficulty level with its own pace.
- Balance. The six peoples and their units, so that every choice stays worth making.
- What you run into. Bugs and rough edges you report get fixed first. The support page tells you how to report them.
Next#
- New art and animations. Units, buildings and the landscape get a new look, with more animation.
- More polish. A smoother interface and menus, and the small things that make a match feel right.
- New screenshots and a new trailer once the new art is in.
Later, if the game catches on#
These are bigger plans, for when enough people are playing Aetas to make them worthwhile.
- A map and scenario editor, to make your own maps and missions.
- Co-op missions for two to four players together against the computer.
- A ranked queue (matchmaking), as soon as there are enough players to fill one. Until then, ranked works with a tick box when you host.
- Sea and harbours, with fishing boats, if players ask for it.
