About the visuals#

The world is drawn in 2D from straight above, with sprites rendered out of 3D models: every unit is rendered from eight directions and walks, chops, strikes and falls in the same style. The terrain is built from tiles with transitions between grass, dirt, stone, sand and water, with forests and veins laid over it.

The interface has three themes — stone & bronze, slate, and parchment & map — which you pick at first start and can change afterwards. They colour only the menus and the side panel, never the world itself: otherwise you would lose track of your own units.
