Aetas is out in Early Access
It's here: Aetas is out in Early Access on Steam.
When I started, I just wanted to play a game like Empire Earth again. A town center, a few workers, an unknown map, and somewhere behind those woods someone else doing exactly the same thing. A lot of evenings later, that game is now in the Steam store for anyone to play.
What's in it#
- Seven ages, from the Stone Age to the Industrial Age
- Six peoples that each play their own way: Franks, Norse, Greeks, Mongols, Arabs and Chinese
- Six campaigns with 48 missions, plus historical battles you can play on their own
- Skirmish against the computer, from Beginner to Merciless
- Online multiplayer for up to eight players, with ranked matches and a leaderboard on this site
- A tutorial, challenges with medals, and nine languages
Why Early Access?#
The game is playable from start to finish, but it's not done. The art keeps getting better, the balance between the peoples and the ages needs real matches, and you'll probably find things I never thought of. Early Access is the honest way to do that together. Every update gets its own post here, so you can always see what changed.
Try it first#
Not sure yet? A free demo is coming soon to the same Steam page. You'll get the first three ages, skirmish against the computer, the tutorial, the challenges, the first three Greek missions and the battle of Cannae.
Thank you#
To everyone who put Aetas on their wishlist, sent a message or played along: thank you. See you on the battlefield.
